My name is Jason Gemmer, my wife and I live and have raised our 3 children in
Park County for over 20 years, thus giving us deep connections and loyalty to our
County. I have over 20 years of sitting on various boards and volunteering my time to
the Park County Fair Board, Park County Livestock Committee, being a 4-H Leader and
sports coach, working with youth to develop respectable and productive members of
society. My children and my wife also actively take roles in our community in their own
ways, volunteering their time and helping raise our small herd of cattle.
I have 30 years of experience in the construction and municipal industry. Working on bids, estimates, budgetary items and understanding the hidden charges within. My career encompasses involvement for nearly three decades in various industries, including: hydroelectric power plant, micro fossil fuel power plant construction, major fire site restoration, commercial & municipal construction, and residential development. I have managed several departments, section heads and individuals in my carrier.
I have been a voting republican and have shown to be a firm conservative in our
county for nearly 28 years. My interest in the Park County Commissioner position is not
as a person interested in a career in politics. Alternatively, I am interested in Republican
values such as smaller government and not having our government overreach into our
personal lives. Governmental officers taking personal responsibility for their decisions
and actions. Figuring out the proper usage of tax funds to keep our tax burden as low as
possible. The idea is to find alternative ways to utilize the funding for our County. Not
by selling the county out to large government ideology trying to gather state and
federal funding only to be subservient to their terms and conditions. For instance, using
State or Federal funding that have stipulations causing our main constituents to go
against their core values. Rather, choosing to keep true to our constituents by keeping
the government out of our personal independent life and not just keeping the norm as
we know it today. Challenging new ideas for the use of county funds.
